Simpson's Estate Chalklands, Kent, UK

Ruth and Charles Simpson had been making wine in France since 2002, but moved to the North Downs and set up Simpson's in 2012. The climate and geology (chalky soils), share much with Champagne, and the "Chalklands" is a traditional Pinot Noir / Chardonnay blend made in the Champagne method. This is now a Non-Vintage blend - a rich, golden-coloured wine with baked pear, bright citrus and linear, precise finish.
