Vinoramica Favourites - All Whites
A mixture of household names in Highams Park—that always put a smile on the face—along with some of Matt’s recent discoveries, often “off the beaten track”.
Two bottles of each of the following:
San Marzano Verdeca Talo—Puglia, Italy
A refreshing, dry style of Verdeca with rich aromas of blossoms, green apples and a touch of honey. Full-flavoured with hints of melon and spice, a creamy texture and a crisp, dry finish. A great match for shelfish or fish with a light sauce.
Akriotou Savatiano Orivatis “Mountain Wine”—Greece
A dry wine with perfectly balanced freshness, made from 100% Savatiano - an indigenous Greek variety - from the mountains. A complex and aromatic nose with ripe peach, quince and creamy vanilla leading to intense flavours of grapefruit, mint and a touch of pepper, and a long spicy finish. Try with smoked trout, fresh crab and spicy Asian-inspired dishes.
Finkenauer Riesling Trocken (dry)—Nahe, Germany
A crisp and zingy Riesling with peach fruit and fresh, floral aromas. A great balance with a slightly spicy edge, a hint of spritz on the palate and a dry, steely finish. Try with white fish, lemon risotto and spicy dishes.
